From a young age, I've been immersed in the world of movement and the human body. At 15, I started teaching dance to teenagers at a local studio, igniting my passion for movement and unlocking each body's potential.
Throughout my college years at the University of Central Florida, I continued teaching dance, nurturing my love for guiding others in their movement journeys all while pursuing my BA degree in Psychology. This is where my desire to learn more about self development and inner harmony started.
In 2000, I discovered Pilates and fell in love with its transformative power. Seeking to deepen my understanding, I embarked on a rigorous, year-long, 1000-hour training program at The Pilates Center in Boulder, CO. Under revered instructors, I honed my skills and immersed myself in the intricacies of the practice.
Armed with comprehensive training, I ventured forth, sharing my wisdom and passion in studios, gyms, and wellness centers across vibrant cities, majestic mountains, and serene shores.
Alongside my Pilates expertise, I pursued additional education in fields such as functional anatomy, corrective exercise, osteoporosis, suspension training, yoga, neurological conditions and more. I am also a Licensed Massage Therapist that has studied many bodywork techniques that include microcurrent, cupping, blading, myofascial release, trigger point, assisted stretching, muscle testing and many others all in pursuit of being a knowledgeable source and guide to all I am lucky enough to help.
My personal journey has also shaped my approach to helping others. Overcoming a life-altering stroke at 34 and navigating the challenges of rebuilding my body and mental state, I learned invaluable lessons in resilience and strength. I know what it's like to not be able to walk or doubt my every move. I slept for 22hrs a day. I had to completely rebuild my body and mind back up not just from an injury but from a huge, life-changing setback. Movement was and still is a huge factor in my recovery both physically and emotionally.
At age 41 I finally had my miracle baby after trying for 4 years. He is my everything but with motherhood comes another layer of self-discovery and physical restrictions. I had an emergency C-section which required some extra downtime for recovery. Since my son was born at the beginning of the Covid pandemic, only one parent could go to the Dr appointments and since I could not hold the carrier yet I had to forgo my son's first few appointments which was heartbreaking for me. Getting passed some of the mental and physical challenges of childbirth, becoming a mom later in life and then handling it all in the midst of a global pandemic was challenging. I relied heavily on my self-discovery and awareness tools along with family, friends and coaches guiding and helping in every way possible. Again, I learned so many lessons and realized how important standing in your own power both physically and mentally can be.
Today, after three decades of profound experience, I stand as a beacon of knowledge and compassion. Specializing in Movement and body resilience through Pilates and Mobility, I focus on helping people improve movement restrictions, aid in recovery and pain reduction, overcome discomfort, and reduce the risk of injury for better overall quality of movement along with being a guide for self-discovery, self-awareness, and self-love.
I know what it's like to be in pain, to struggle mentally, be given a setback so severe I never thought I'd crawl out of the hole. I was told I would need to find another career. Guess what? I didn't. I found my footing and pushed forward and I found a process that works. Anytime I am in pain or need some perspective I go back to my process and in rapid time I am back to living life to the fullest, bouncing around with my toddler and enjoying life.
